Jun. 7: Frank van Gelder, KBTC

From the streets of New York to the castles of Europe and savannahs of Africa, the Public Broadcasting Service, PBS, has brought the world to our television screens for nearly 50 years. How does this national media organization continue to fulfill its mission and how is that implemented locally?

As public information and marketing professionals, we always strive to convey our message in the right medium to the right audience. This presentation will describe the programs that air on PBS, who is watching and how it may be the right option for a public information initiative by connecting with the PBS viewer.

Frank van Gelder has worked in the media in western Washington for more than 30 years and is currently the Corporate Support Manager at KBTC Public Television. KBTC Public Television is the PBS affiliate based out of Tacoma and is licensed through Bates Technical College.
